 2010 Frances & Jane Lausche Graduate School Scholarship: Given to an applicant entering Graduate School and who meets all the requirements of the College/University guidelines. KSKJ College and High School Scholarship and Financial Aid Award application forms for the 2011/2012 school year are now available. Completed applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2011.

Scholarships are normally awarded:

20 Four Year College/University Scholarships
$375.00 per year for 4 years - total $1,500.00

15 Financial Aid Awards (College and High School included)
$375.00 per year

10 Four Year High School Awards
$375.00 per year for 4 years - total $1,500.00

Additional Awards:

Krajec Memorial Scholarship: Given to an applicant who is in pre-med or dental program, nursing, therapy, pharmacy or any other program in the medical field. This does not include Veterinary School. This award is for $500.00 in addition to the KSKJ Life Scholarship.

Fr. David Stalzer Award: Given to an applicant who does not receive a College/University Scholarship, and meets all requirements and is based on VOLUNTEERISM in the community. This award is a one time stipend of $500.00.

Religious Scholarship: Student members entering a school to become a priest, nun or deacon may apply for a 4 year $1500.00 scholarship ($375.00 per year) either for high school or college. If student is presently in school, you may apply for financial aid up to 3 years.

Mary Frances Decman Memorial Award: Given to a young lady entering the Medical field. This Award will be funded by Dr. Richard Zalar for $1000.00 annually in memory of his mother for a minimum of 5 years. This award will be given in addition to a KSKJ Life Scholarship to the young lady with the highest score for a female entering the Medical Field.

For all scholarships:

  • All applications must be submitted on the approved form.
  • Scholarship recipients will be evaluated and awarded on the merit so that more than one applicant from any family may become a recipient during the same year.
  • Recipients of the College/University and High School Scholarships will be required to perform a minimum of 5 hours of community or KSKJ Life service each year. They can get credit for attending each lodge meeting and lodge function. A form will be sent out with the initial payment to the recipient. This form will have to be completed and submitted to the Home Office prior to the issuance of the grant for the second, third, and fourth year.
  • Lodge President or Secretary must review the application. Also a statement by this Officer must be submitted with the application. Note:Officer's signature at this time is not required on the application.
  • The applicant must be a member of KSKJ Life for two years prior to the deadline date for submitting the application for a scholarship or financial aid.
  • The point scale will all be on the 1 to 10 scale. Regarding KSKJ Life service it will read "Up to eight (8) points may be awarded for KSKJ service to the applicant who is a member less than five (5) years. Applicants who are members for greater than five (5) years may be awarded a total of ten (10) points for KSKJ Life service.
  • All required information regarding applicant must be presented at the time the application is submitted for review by the Committee or the application will be considered invalid. Note: Only under special circumstances will the committee consider reviewing an application considered incomplete.
  • If a Board members’ immediate family is awarded a college or high school scholarship, an additional scholarship will be awarded.
  • Applicants applying for a KSKJ Life Scholarship or Financial Aid who live away from their home lodge should be given credit for their community and church activity under KSKJ Life activity.

Statement of Acceptance - Service Hours --Each new and previous Scholarship Award or Financial Aid Winner must complete the Statement of Acceptance Form available each year for payment.
